ChatGPT & Codex Reset Tracker

From the announcement to your clock

Tibo on X ↗

ChatGPT & Codex reset announcements, translated into local time. Every event keeps the source and the meaning of the original words.

Waiting for data

When a source supplies a time, its local conversion will appear here. An announcement without a time stays unscheduled.

One announcement, around the world

Regional times appear when the latest event contains a timestamp.

Reset announcement history

A deadline passing does not confirm a reset. Only an explicit source confirmation can do that.

Recent Tibo posts & replies

Posts obtained from an X mirror. Reset events are selected by the parser; unrelated posts stay in this feed.

How words become times
Source wordingWhat this tracker shows
“Within the next 2 hours”A window from the post timestamp to two hours later
“Tomorrow before 10am PST”A deadline anchored to the post's source-zone date, with a daylight-time alternative where relevant
“By midnight PST”The following midnight in fixed UTC−8; a separate Pacific-local interpretation during daylight saving
“By EOD” or “soon”No exact time: the wording does not define an hour and time zone
“Done” in a reset threadConfirmed by the reply's timestamp; not a measured account activation time
Independent tracker, not an OpenAI service. Discovery: WillReset public API. Post text and reply relationships: FxTwitter mirror. Each event links to its original X post. Coverage depends on those sources and is not a complete X archive.
GeoIP provides an approximate time zone; VPNs may change it. Choose a time zone above to override it. The tracker does not store your IP or request location permission. Regional formatting uses IANA time zones through Intl.DateTimeFormat, including daylight-saving rules for the event date.

Find the latest reset announcement from Tibo (@thsottiaux), read the exact wording, and see what its timing means where you are. The tracker collects posts and replies automatically, links each event to X, and separates a promised deadline from a source confirmation. It does not read your ChatGPT account or infer your personal remaining allowance.

Your time zone is selected from approximate IP location when available. You can override it, compare regions, or share a link that preserves your chosen zone. A time such as midnight needs both a date and a time zone: the parser uses the original post as its reference, never the day on which you happen to open this page.

How to use

  1. Read the status above the latest announcement. A deadline is a promise, a window is a range, and a confirmation means the source explicitly reported completion. A passed deadline stays unconfirmed.
  2. Check the detected time zone or choose another region. The displayed date changes along with the clock, so a reset on Friday in California may be Saturday in Asia.
  3. Open the original X post and its thread context to inspect the evidence. If PST and Pacific daylight time give different answers, compare both interpretations before planning work.
  4. Use Copy result or Share the result to include the source, local time, and uncertainty. Refresh reloads stored results, which may be cached for five minutes. Sources are checked every fifteen minutes, except during a 24-hour pause after a qualifying reset event or a failure retry delay.
Good to know — A one-hour ambiguity matters more than a countdown accurate to the second. On October 25, 2026, midnight at fixed PST (UTC−8) is 08:00 UTC, while midnight in Los Angeles is 07:00 UTC because daylight saving is still in effect there. The corresponding Beijing times are 16:00 and 15:00. Both are legitimate conversions of different source meanings; neither proves an account reset occurred at that instant.
Quick reference — Before restarting a large task, check the usage display for the same account, plan, and workspace. A global announcement may concern Codex, ChatGPT Work, selected paid plans, or a banked reset. The tracker preserves the announcement wording instead of treating every use of the word reset as a universal refresh of all limits.

Frequently asked questions

How does the tracker turn Tibo's words into a time?

The collector discovers post IDs, obtains the post text, timestamp, author, and reply relationship from an X mirror, and runs explicit parsing rules. Relative expressions are anchored to the post timestamp. Within the next two hours produces a two-hour window. Tomorrow before a stated clock time uses the next calendar date in the stated source zone. The result keeps its source link and an explanation so the conversion can be checked. Unsupported wording remains visible without a fabricated timestamp.

Does this show my personal ChatGPT reset time?

No. This page tracks public announcements, not the usage meter attached to your account. Your normal recovery schedule and any special global reset can be different. The tracker cannot see your plan, current balance, banked resets, or whether a change has propagated to your workspace. An announced global deadline is useful context, but your own usage screen is the place to check the allowance actually available to you.

Why can PST produce two different local times?

PST literally means UTC minus eight hours. People also use PST informally to mean Pacific local time throughout the year, even when Los Angeles is using PDT at UTC minus seven. When these interpretations disagree, the tracker labels the event ambiguous and shows both. It does not silently substitute daylight time. Regional conversions themselves use IANA time-zone rules for the event date, so London, New York, and Sydney follow their own daylight-saving calendars.

What does confirmed by mean?

A source may write Done after a reset finishes. When that post explicitly describes a reset or belongs to a verified reset thread, its timestamp provides an upper bound: the reset was reported complete by then. It does not identify the exact second at which every account changed. A standalone Done with no identifiable reset context cannot establish a reset event. The parser also keeps future promises and negative statements separate from completion reports.

What happens when the announced deadline passes?

The event remains a historical deadline with a note that the window has passed. The clock alone never changes its status to confirmed. A subsequent source confirmation must provide that evidence. This avoids a common countdown problem: a timer reaching zero looks like success even when a rollout is delayed, applies to only some users, or has not been independently checked.

How often are posts updated, and what if a source fails?

The server checks sources every fifteen minutes. A newly recognized, recent reset confirmation or unambiguous reset deadline/window pauses source checks for 24 hours from detection; ambiguous wording does not. The same event cannot extend that pause. Corrections, delays, and additional resets posted during the pause will only be discovered afterwards. The next scheduled check is shown. Visible pages reload cached results every five minutes without contacting upstream sources. Unchanged data is not rewritten on every check, so health timestamps can update hourly. Failures preserve stored results and delay retries. Third-party mirrors can omit posts or thread relationships; this is not a complete archive.

How does automatic location work?

Cloudflare supplies an approximate IANA time zone through a separate, uncached endpoint, requested once per tab session when automatic selection is needed. The tracker uses that zone without requesting browser geolocation or saving the IP in its event store. A VPN or corporate network may select a different region. If GeoIP is unavailable, the device's configured time zone is used, then UTC as a final fallback. A manual selection takes priority and is remembered in this browser; shared links can carry that selected time zone.

Why is there no precise countdown for some announcements?

Soon, later, and end of day do not always define a numeric deadline. A date without a source time zone also cannot be converted to one global instant reliably. Rather than assume a location or invent an hour, the tracker shows the wording and marks the timing unresolved. A later reply can add the missing details. This distinction is especially useful when people across continents read the same announcement on different calendar dates.
