Frequently asked questions

What percentage is an A?

On the standard US scale, an A is 90% or above, B is 80–89%, C is 70–79%, D is 60–69%, and F is below 60%. Some schools use plus/minus cutoffs (93% = A, 90% = A−); check your syllabus for the exact scheme.

How do I calculate my grade percentage?

Divide points earned by points possible and multiply by 100. Scoring 85 out of 100 points is 85%; scoring 17 out of 20 is also 85% — the ratio is what matters, not the raw numbers.

What do I need on the final to pass?

Use the target-grade box: enter your current average and the final's share of the total grade, and it shows the exact final-exam percentage required. If the number is over 100%, the target is mathematically out of reach — talk to your teacher about extra credit.

Does it work for weighted grading categories?

Yes for a single category: enter your average within that category and its weight in the target section. For multiple weighted categories, average each category first, then combine by weight before entering it.
